New to Scrabble? Here are a few things you should know about our club!
Club meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of every month at 1pm. Bring a board if you have one, and come to the back room of Pure Soul! If possible, come a little early to order food, meet the players, and set up.
There are two other Scrabble clubs in the region featuring more casual play. Our sister club, the Triangle Scrabble Club, is also NASPA-sanctioned, and alternates weekends with us, meeting at Greek Fiesta in Brier Creek, Raleigh, on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Also, the Cary Scrabble Meetup features four-player games in a very casual setting. Fees are a dollar per game.
Cheat sheets are provided, with information on useful Scrabble words, such as the two and three letter words. Most players at club have a working knowledge of many useful, obscure Scrabble words.
Many of our players are very strong. Most of our players regularly score over 400 points and will play multiple bingos in a game. It is our hope that players will stay encouraged: we're happy to help players learn!
